Primary Schools

Our education team provide quality resources that enhances the teaching of Religious Education. We are experienced Buddhist practitioners and trained teachers, offering in-depth workshops on principles and practices of Buddhism to all Key Stages. Also on offer is quality CPD and subject knowledge training for students and qualified Religious Education teachers.

Key stage one

Basics of Buddhism

During an informative and interactive workshop, pupils are introduced to the life of Shakyamuni Buddha and how Buddhism spread throughout Asia and the world. This workshop also allows pupils to experience demonstrations of chanting from the Nichiren tradition.

Who lives in a house like this?

(Specific to Taplow Court)

Pupils will have a tour of Taplow Court, former home to Lord and Lady Desborough. A site that has been occupied since the Bronze Age, this workshop gives your pupils a chance to learn more about their local area and the history of the building and the famous people who lived here.

Key stage two

Buddhism for the 21st Century

This workshop goes into greater detail around the philosophy and practice of Buddhism. Through demonstrations of Buddhist practice, looking at the lives of influential Buddhist thinkers and asking key questions, pupils will be able to come to understand how Buddhist philosophy has been used to empower individuals to take valuable action within society.

  • Thank you for welcoming Year 5 to Taplow Court and for your excellent input during an inspiring day. The students and staff really appreciated the information that you made available on Buddhism, and the history of the site through the exhibition, discussions with you both and through a tour of the house and the Anglo-Saxon burial mound in the grounds. The demonstration of faith was wonderful. I know that Year 5 will want to come back in the future.
